Activation & Setup

How do I activate my eSIM?+

After purchase you receive an email with a QR code and activation code. On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code. On Android (Pixel/Samsung): Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Download a SIM. Most installs finish in under 60 seconds.

How long does activation take?+

QR install is instant. The first network attach in your destination usually completes in a few minutes after landing — once the line shows bars, you're online.

Do I need WiFi to install?+

Yes — you need an internet connection (any WiFi or your home cellular) to download the eSIM profile. After install, no WiFi is needed in the destination.

Can I install before I travel?+

Absolutely. We recommend installing 24 hours before departure and toggling the line ON only when you land. The QR can be reused on the same device.

What if the QR code won't scan?+

Use the manual SM-DP+ activation code from your email instead. Open Settings → Add eSIM → Enter Details Manually and paste the code.

Which countries are covered?+

200+ destinations across 7 continents. We connect to top-tier carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange, NTT Docomo, Three UK, etc. Pick a country to see exactly which networks light up.

Will I get 5G?+

Where the destination network supports 5G AND your device supports it on roaming, yes. Otherwise you'll get LTE/4G — still fast enough for video calls and maps.

What if there's no signal?+

Toggle Airplane mode on/off, then make sure Data Roaming is ON for the GoRoam eSIM line. If still no service, our 24/7 support team can swap your eSIM to a backup network for free.

Does it work on cruises or planes?+

No. eSIM plans use terrestrial cellular networks. For cruise/inflight WiFi, use the ship/airline's onboard service.

Plans & Pricing

Are these plans voice + SMS?+

No. These are data-only eSIM plans. WhatsApp, iMessage, FaceTime and similar apps continue to work with your existing number.

Do unlimited plans have limits?+

Unlimited under fair-usage. High-speed allowance varies by destination — most include 1–3 GB/day at full speed, then unlimited at 256–512 kbps. Each country page lists the exact limit.

Can I share hotspot/tethering?+

Most plans support hotspot. A few networks (mostly in Asia) cap or block tethering — we flag those clearly on each plan card.

Do you accept Apple Pay / Google Pay?+

Yes — Stripe checkout supports Apple Pay, Google Pay, all major credit cards, Klarna and Afterpay where eligible.

Do prices include taxes?+

Listed prices are in USD before any local VAT/GST. Taxes (if applicable) are calculated at checkout based on your billing country.

Is my phone eSIM-compatible?+

iPhone XS and newer (US iPhones from 14 are eSIM-only). Pixel 3+, Samsung S20+, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip, most Sony Xperia and Motorola flagship devices since 2021. We have a compatibility checker on /esim/troubleshooting.

Can I use it on my watch / iPad?+

These plans are phone-eSIMs (data-only consumer SKUs). They activate on iPad cellular models too — Apple Watch needs the watch carrier, which we do not currently sell.

Will my phone need to be unlocked?+

Yes — your device must be carrier-unlocked to install third-party eSIMs. Most modern devices sold direct (Apple, Pixel, Samsung) ship unlocked.

Can I keep my home line active?+

Yes. iPhone and most Android phones support dual SIM with eSIM. Keep your home number for calls/SMS and use GoRoam eSIM for data.

Top-up, Refunds & Account

Can I top up later?+

Yes — if your destination supports top-ups, the option appears in Dashboard → My eSIMs once your plan is active. Otherwise just buy a new plan; the QR re-installs in seconds.

What's your refund policy?+

Full refund within 30 days of purchase if the eSIM has not been activated. After activation, partial refunds at our discretion if a coverage issue cannot be resolved.

Where do I see my purchased eSIMs?+

Sign in and go to Dashboard → My eSIMs. You'll see the QR, ICCID, data remaining and validity for every line you've purchased.

Can I transfer an eSIM to a new phone?+

iOS: Quick Transfer from old to new iPhone copies the line. Android: re-scan the QR from your GoRoam eSIM email — most plans allow re-install once. Contact support if you need extra installs.

Travel tips

Do I keep WhatsApp / iMessage on my number?+

Yes. eSIMs are data-only, so apps tied to your existing number stay logged in. Just make sure 'iMessage / WhatsApp uses cellular data on Primary line' is set to your home line.

What about Google Maps offline?+

Pre-download offline maps before flying. The eSIM will give you live traffic + transit once connected, but offline maps are still the best safety net.

Can I stream Netflix / TikTok?+

Yes — most country plans include enough high-speed data for daily streaming. For 8+ hours/day of HD streaming, pick an unlimited plan.

What if I travel to multiple countries?+

Pick a regional plan (Europe, Asia, North America) — one eSIM covers every country in the region. Or buy a Global plan for 100+ destinations on a single QR.
