No second screen? Install your travel eSIM by hand
Pick whichever method matches what you have to hand. The SM-DP+ address and activation code are at the bottom of your GoRoam activation email.
1 · QR on a second screen
Open your GoRoam activation email on a laptop or tablet. On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code. Point the camera at the QR. Done in ~30 seconds.
2 · Universal Link in the email (iOS 17.4+)
On the iPhone, open the activation email and tap the big "Install eSIM"button. iOS will jump straight into the Cellular setup with the profile pre-filled. Confirm and you're live.
3 · Enter Details Manually
Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Enter Details Manually. Paste the SM-DP+ address and the activation code from your email. Example below — these are samples, use the values from your own activation email:

I see 'No Service' or 'Searching...' for more than 5 minutes.
1) Confirm Data Roaming is ON for the GoRoam eSIM line. 2) Toggle airplane mode for 30 seconds. 3) Manually pick a network: Settings → Cellular → Network Selection → turn 'Automatic' OFF and pick any partner network listed in your activation email. 4) If still nothing, restart the phone fully (power off, wait 10s, power on).
The QR code says 'Unable to add cellular plan'.
This usually means the eSIM was already installed on a different device. Each eSIM profile can only be installed once. Reply to your activation email and we'll re-issue a fresh profile within 1 business hour.
Data is super slow, way slower than my home network.
Most GoRoam eSIM plans deliver 4G/LTE; some destinations include 5G where the partner carrier supports it. Speeds can drop in dense crowds, on trains and inside concrete buildings — same as a local SIM. Try a speed test next to a window — if it's <2 Mbps consistently we'll switch you to a different network at no charge.
I want to keep iMessage / WhatsApp on my home number.
Yes — iMessage stays tied to whichever line you registered it with. Make sure 'iMessage & FaceTime line' is set to your home line in Settings → Messages → iMessage & FaceTime line. WhatsApp is tied to the number you registered, not the SIM, so it always works as long as you have any internet connection.
How do I delete the eSIM when my trip is over?
iPhone: Settings → Cellular → tap the GoRoam eSIM line → 'Delete eSIM'. Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → GoRoam eSIM → 'Erase SIM'. Deleting the eSIM does NOT cancel any active plan or refund unused data — it only removes the profile from your device.
Can I top up or extend the same eSIM?
Yes. Open the dashboard → My eSIMs → tap your active plan → 'Top up'. Top-ups apply to the same profile so you don't need to scan a new QR.
