Our philosophy

Three principles.

We hold three convictions about money. They have not changed since 2008. They are the reason we built our practice the way we did, and the reason our clients tend to stay.

i.

You are not trying to beat the market.

You are trying to have a life that does not depend, in any meaningful way, on what the market does next quarter. We will build you a portfolio that does not require us to be right about the next quarter.

ii.

Fees should be transparent.

We charge a flat percentage of assets under management. We do not collect commissions on funds, insurance products, or annuities. The amount you pay us is the amount you pay us.

iii.

The portfolio is the smaller conversation.

The larger conversations are about succession, philanthropy, business sale, divorce, and the next twenty years of your tax life. We are equipped to hold both.

The partners

Three partners.

Every engagement is led by a partner. Our average client has worked with the same partner for twelve years.

Our process

A first year.

Most new client relationships follow this rhythm. After year one, we settle into a quarterly check-in cadence and an annual planning meeting.

i.

The conversation.

A 60-minute call. Mutual fit only. No deck. If we are not a fit, we will tell you, and refer you to someone who is.

Month 1
ii.

The discovery.

Two 90-minute sessions. We map your full balance sheet — assets, liabilities, future obligations, and the soft commitments that don't show up on a 1040.

Months 2 — 3
iii.

The plan.

A 60-page plan document. Investment, tax, estate, philanthropy, insurance. Includes a 10-year cash-flow projection and three scenario stress-tests.

Months 4 — 6
iv.

The cadence.

Quarterly check-ins, annual full review, monthly portfolio statements. We are reachable by phone or email within one business day, always.

A transparent fee schedule

One fee. No commissions.

We are paid one way: an annual fee, billed quarterly, as a percentage of the assets we manage on your behalf. We accept no commissions, no kickbacks, and no referral fees from any product.
